I think I/my child may have autism but I'm not sure. How can I find out?
The core features of autism are difficulties with social interaction and communication, and the presence of repetitive behaviours and restricted interests. However, the specific symptoms and the severity are highly variable among different individuals. If you have concerns about your child, you should speak with your paediatrician and ask that your child be screened for autism.
My child is acting out quite aggressively and is prone to meltdowns or temper tantrums.
This is likely to be an anxiety response, with training your child can learn how to overcome or better manage these intense emotional responses/reactions.
My child is not coping at school and is school avoiding what should I do?
Poor school attendance is a common problem; your child has options of part time or dual enrolment including accessing education online.
